Giotto’s Stage Sets

A series of digital images based on reworked photographs of the murals painted by the early renaissance artist  Giotto in Assisi and Padua depicting the lives of St Francis and Christ respectively.

I have removed the figures from the images to leave the architectural settings in which the events took place. Is the event about to take place or has it already happened?

A book has been created in Graphic Novel format – ‘Giotto’s St Francis Project’ which visually disaggregates the Assisi frescoes.
